David Blaine
Got up today – later than I should have done, but I had a late night last night staying up with Sooz while she did her work. I am spending today getting some things sorted and then tomorrow I am going to steam on. I have lots to do this week, and I want to get ALL of it done. 🙂
I am just sat now wastching David Blaine on the TV in the whole Above The Below stunt. I like David Blaine, and I used to do some magic with cards/coins etc. It does make me wonder though, how he is going to manage this. 44 days and nights with no food, no people (apart from the goons looking at the box), and no shower/bath. I would not like to be the first person to see him when they open the box. He is going to smell like the back end of a horse.
Right, better get on with things…
Busy is an understatement
You know, I am busy at the moment. Not only have I got two magazine articles to finish, but I have some other writing work to do and some editing of copy for my book. Do not misunderstand me; I am not complaining – I love working, and I love writing, but it just astounded me today when I thought about it how busy I am.
Not only am I busy cranking away with my work, but I also have a stack of other things to do. Gigs to book, family to visit, website to update, Tobe to code, music to write, and let us not forget – TV to watch and beer to drink.
At the moment it is pretty much work central as Sooz is working away on her masters project and I have these things to do. We are now sat at 12.35am on Monday morning still working. Workaholics I suspect.

Moozic
Well, today was cool and you can hear the product of our recording session. I am quite pleased with it, and we managed to get the song sounding quite eerie. 🙂
Tonight I have reviewed three of the four NAS servers and hacked away at Tobe. I am working towards a 0.6 release and have fixed a stack of bugs, redesigned the software and added some important new features. I am hoping to make a release over the next week or so, but as usual, it is dependent on time.

Busy weekend ahead
Well, this weekend has got lots going on. This afternoon I am recording a song with Dom and Jo in the studio. He has written an acoustic track, and we are going to get it recorded and mixed hopefully today. Today or tomorrow I need to review some NAS kit I was sent over, and I also need to work on another article for a magazine ready for next week. Tomorrow I also have a band practice. 🙂 Susan is pretty busy also at the moment, and she is working on her Masters work this weekend so we will both be occupied.
Good to hear the new track is getting a tidy response. 🙂 It was quite strange listening to it when it was finished because it is so different to the kind of stuff I normally pump out. This morning I was working on another new tune which is all about the issues of freedom, rights and digital rights. It is coming along nicely and I did most of the drums this morning. 🙂

New track online
Well folks, after just rambling about it this morning I have finished the final mix and put the new song online. It is called Reside, and I look forward to any comments. 🙂
Huge Boxes
Woke up this morning and had some huge boxes arrive at the house. These contain some network storage products that I am reviewing for a magazine. Some of them, such as the HP one, are huge. I am going to review them this weekend.
Attempted to watch Bowling For Columbine again last night. I watched it a few nights back and fell asleep half way through. Last night, I got a bit further ansd fell asleep again. Dammit. This is just down to tiredness, not boredom; I am pretty impressed with what I have seen so far.
Last night I also worked on a new tune, and finished most of the mixing. This song is quite different from my normal stuff and is entirely instrumental. I think of the concept as being slighly out of your head with this one. It makes use of some weird mixing and EQs. I hope to have it online today…in fact I might stick it online in a few minutes when I crowbar my backside away from the chair.

A small snack
My god, I ate a lot of food last night. It was our usual Wolves LUG meeting and we were in the pub. I ate a chicken and cheese wrap dusted off with some cheesecake and complimented with four pints of coke throughout the night as I drove. It got to booting out time, and we left with our sights set on a Vodka bar over the road. To our great dismay the aforementioned bar of vodka was closed due to refurbishment, so we stood on the street corner deciding what to do. Curry was suggested, and Aq, Dan and myself headed of to binge on curry. By the end of night I had eaten 6 times. Ugh.
Well, I am now up and ready to do some work. I have some magazine work to finish, and then on with some other things.

The hat, the gown
Well, I graduated yesterday. My mum and dad and grandad came up and I wore the gown and hat and got my degree. It was a great day and it was good to meet up with family and old friends from the course. We are going to be planning a big meet up soon when some people are back.
I got up at 8am today and went over to the hotel to see my family off. I am now sat in my usual position during the day working.

And on we go
Well, today I want to get a stack of writing done, and then I need to arrange some things for graduation tomorrow. I am now sat here feeling a little tired, listening to Decapitated. Speaking of music, I have some new tunes in the works, and I am going to record them soon. I still need to get a better sound card to avoid the latency though.

Rampant
Phew, what a busy weekend. I gigged on friday, bloodstock on saturday and practice today (sunday). The band is picking up and gigs are getting booked and new material is getting written. 😀
Well, tonight I am going to be playing with Apache 2 and Qt, and I need to arrange a few things for my graduation ceremony on Tuesday. I need to get some smart shoes, but I will only wear them once in my life. I think I am gonna borrow my mates shoes. As you know, I lounge about in trainers and metal t-shirts (well, cloth t-shirts, with metal bands shown on them).
