The Delta Arrives

The Delta Arrives

Well the Delta 44 has arrived and now begins a new era of recording for me. 😀 I gave it a quick whirl and I had no latency on 5 tracks at least and then I stopped. I am sure it can take even more of a battering. 🙂

Gig / Book / Birthday

Gig / Book / Birthday

Well, got up, went down stairs for tea and toast and I am now ready to start work. I have a number of things to work on today for my book, and tonight I am playing a gig at the Rock Cafe in Stourbridge. 🙂

For the interest of those who can send me presents, it is my birthday on Wednesday. I am going to be the spritely age of 24. We are going out for some food on Wednesday night and then organising some birthday fun over the next few weekends. 🙂

Hackathon

Hackathon

Well tonight has been a mighty hackfest. I stayed up specifically to watch Iron Maiden on Top Of The Pops. They were cool…oh, they were cool. 🙂

Tonight I have been hacking Tobe some more. I got the general and moderation config pages coded and implemented and then moved onto bug fixing some other things. I am currently fixing up subject ownership and then I will sort the stylesheets out better. I have a few more things such as a news system to add before I will release 0.6 into the wild.

Right I need sleep as I have a band practice tomorrow and a huge chicken to eat. 😀

Nice day

Nice day

Today has been a nice day. Earlier I had a phone call from Aq asking if we wanted to go round to theirs for a BBQ. We accepted their kind invitation and went over to drink beer and eat fired meat. We were at one with nature eating off porcelein plates in their garden. 🙂

We got back, engaged in a curry and went to bed. Both Sooz and I are knackered, but I am going to get some things coded tonight in Tobe and fix a few remaining bugs in the site here and there. 🙂

Hacking away

Hacking away

Right, I have coded a stack of updates on the site. First of all, I have installed a bug tracking system. You see that link at the bottom of the page saying Please report page errors and problems, well that gives some instructions on how to use the bug tracking system. All bugs are accepted and this includes errors in documents that I have written.

I have also revamped the Ramble section. I have first stuck every ramble in a category, and I have coded a means of selecting rambles based on categories or selecting all/latest 10 rambles. I am also displaying how many comments have been posted. Finally, I fixed a few bugs here and there elsewhere in the site.

Music and charities

Well folks, as I have ranted many times on here before, I have eperienced problems when recording my music due to a high latency. This latency occurs when the sound outputted from the PC and the sound I am recording is slightly out of time, and even if I put in a sterling performance, it can often sound out of time. Well, to remedy this, I have just bought a new M-Audio Delta 44 card. This means better recordings from now on. 😀

Just submitted my comment and advocacy articles to Linux format and I talk some more about charities. To tie in with this discussion, I have been getting some good feedback on my document that I wrote for charities. I really to get my charities forum buzzing, and I hope this make a difference. 🙂

Lots of things

Lots of things

Well, it seems the new ramble is getting some interesting feedback. I got back in last night from the cinema to 10 comments. 😀 Keep up the good commenting work folks!

We went to see Pirates Of The Caribbian. Excellent film with lots of famous types in it. There was Steve from BBC comedy Coupling, the dude from The Office, the guy from Jumping Jack Flash and obviously Johnny Depp. Good fun. 🙂

Well today I have work to do and tonight I am hoping to fix some bugs that have been reported to me in some documents and other bits and bobs. Nothing bad, just little issues here and there. I also need to finish off a few things in Tobe to release 0.6. 😀

Rambled

Rambled

Well, I have rambled, and you can read the fruits of my loins in the Ramble section. This one is about the similarities between KDE and GNOME and whether the desktop battle has ended.

Well, got up a bit later today as I had a late night last night, and I need to now peel myself off the couch and go and work. Its been a busy few days, but the bulk of the work is out of the way now this week, and it is business usual.

Feverish pants

Dammit. I was just reading about Dave Gorman and his up and coming Googlewhack tour. We are going to see him and I thought I would have a whack myself. I tried different things and typed in “feverish pants” and lo and behold one entry came up. I then found out you can’t use quotes. Dammit.

Graduation pictures

Graduation pictures

Well, for those who are bored, interested or need to prepare for a graduation themselves, I have posted some pictures of my gradation here on the forum. Go and mock…yes I can take it.

Well, here I am; usual place, usual time. I submitted the NAS review last night and I have another article to finish today. I need to steam ahead with some things on the book, and when I find some time, finish off some things in Tobe. I am hoping to make a 0.6 release soon, but I have some extra features to code.
