I was delighted to [read this morning](https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel-announce/2012-January/000922.html) that the Ubuntu Technical Board has approved Xubuntu and Kubuntu to be LTS versions, as well as Edubuntu based on some further discussion.
