I just finished putting the final touches to my new presentation *Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants: The Coming Of The Linux Desktop* – which I will be delivering for the first time as the opening keynote for [SCALE](https://www.socallinuxexpo.com/). I am pretty pleased with it so far, and will make final changes (mostly cosmetic) over the next few days as I rehearse it. I am looking forward to SCALE, and fly there on Thursday – if you are going, let me know and we can meet up.
I find that writing presentations is like writing music – I have a broad idea of what I want to do, and then I enter into a period of writing chunks of the story, re-arranging, refining, throwing things away, and everything pretty much lines up at the end. It is a time consuming, but satisfying process, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we will see how well it goes down on Saturday. 🙂
